About Us
Established in 1937, Hawaii Credit Union League is the nonprofit trade association representing affiliated credit unions in Hawaii and Guam.
League affiliation makes a credit union part of a cooperative effort. Many credit unions united form a powerful force in government, business, and the community. Affiliation also provides educational and networking opportunities crucial to a credit union’s success.
Through specialized divisions, the League and its wholly owned subsidiary, HCU Services Corporation, assist credit unions in many ways.
Member Relations Division
- Delivers dues-supported and fee-supported services as the primary link to credit unions.
- Provides operational assistance and research to credit unions.
- Responds to inquiries from the general public about credit unions.
- Coordinates League-sponsored educational programs and the annual convention.
Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Division
- Represents credit union interests in federal, state, and county government on proposed laws and regulations that may impact credit unions.
- Provides regulatory compliance and research assistance to credit unions.
- Coordinates activities to strengthen the credit union movement through grassroots activism.
- Publishes weekly InfoSight eNewsletter.
Association Services Division
- Publishes semi-weekly League eMails, monthly League News newsletter and HCUL annual report and business meeting supplement.
- Coordinates credit union participation in community development activities.
- Maintains HCUL Web site www.hcul.org, Facebook Fan Page, and Twitter site.
- Administers the Hawaii Exchange Links Professionals (HELP) listserv.
- Maintains a lending library of credit union related resources.
