About Us

Established in 1937, Hawaii Credit Union League is the nonprofit trade association representing affiliated credit unions in Hawaii and Guam.

League affiliation makes a credit union part of a cooperative effort. Many credit unions united form a powerful force in government, business, and the community. Affiliation also provides educational and networking opportunities crucial to a credit union’s success.

Through specialized divisions, the League and its wholly owned subsidiary, HCU Services Corporation, assist credit unions in many ways.

Member Relations Division

  • Delivers dues-supported and fee-supported services as the primary link to credit unions.
  • Provides operational assistance and research to credit unions.
  • Responds to inquiries from the general public about credit unions.
  • Coordinates League-sponsored educational programs and the annual convention.

Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Division

  • Represents credit union interests in federal, state, and county government on proposed laws and regulations that may impact credit unions.
  • Provides regulatory compliance and research assistance to credit unions.
  • Coordinates activities to strengthen the credit union movement through grassroots activism.
  • Publishes weekly InfoSight eNewsletter.

Association Services Division

  • Publishes semi-weekly League eMails, monthly League News newsletter and HCUL annual report and business meeting supplement.
  • Coordinates credit union participation in community development activities.
  • Maintains HCUL Web site www.hcul.org, Facebook Fan Page, and Twitter site.
  • Administers the Hawaii Exchange Links Professionals (HELP) listserv.
  • Maintains a lending library of credit union related resources.
