It's time to start thinking about next year’s Government Affairs Conference (GAC) in Washington DC. Next year would be the perfect time to attend as the country continues adapting to President Trump’s administration.

Your League assists in making hotel arrangements in the DC area for this conference and wants to know how many will attend GAC next year.  The hotel has not been assigned, but as soon as that information becomes available we will share it with those interested.  In the meantime, we want to make you aware of the conference and gauge interest.

Date:     Feb 25 - 28, 2018  (Most depart March 1 – Thursday)
Place:    Washington Convention Center, Washington DC

Pre-conference Activities

For the past two years, the League has coordinated meetings with NCUA and CFPB prior to the conference to enhance the experience in DC and plan to do so next year.

Date:     Feb 23, 2018 - Friday
Place:    NCUA Office, Alexandria, Virginia
             CFPB Office, Washington, DC

The NCUA headquarters building is located in Alexandria, Virginia, so we recommend spending the first few nights in the nearby Arlington or Alexandria area, then move over to the DC hotels for the GAC.  The hotels in northern Virginia tend to be less expensive than in DC, and securing rooms should be easy.  You may book hotels on your own, if staying in Virginia, we don’t have conference pricing in this area.

If you are interested in attending, please email Paula Sumimoto Matsushima your answers to the following questions. (Your answers are not a commitment on your part at this time. We are gauging interest in GAC attendance.)

  1. Would you like to attend the 2018 GAC conference?
  2. Would you like to attend the pre-conference meetings?
  3. What dates did you need hotel rooms in the DC area, if you are booking through the League’s hotel block?  (Again we don’t know which hotel will be selected for us at this time.)
    1. Consider if you are coming in earlier or staying later than the conference dates
    2. Consider if you joining the pre-conference activities and which location you will be staying and for what duration of time.
    3. If you plan to make hotel arrangements on your own, please let us know also.
