Individual donations from staff and members at its Hilo and Kona branches raised over $26,000.

HFS Federal Credit Union recently announced a fundraising success benefitting Big Island Hospice Centers. Individual donations from staff and members at its Hilo and Kona branches raised over $26,000. The donor names were written on paper lanterns and hung on a “tree” in the credit union lobby. Thank-you logo items were given to those donating $20 or more.

Hospice centers provide care beyond the cure for anyone facing a life-limiting illness, death, or grief. Focused on comfort, these facilities help in managing pain and symptoms so patients and their families can choose to live each day as fully as possible.

Hospice of Hilo, North Hawaii Hospice and Hospice of Kona were each presented with checks representing a combined total of $26,400.14. Each of HFS FCU’s six offices raised funds from late May to early June.
