Calling young professionals and League JEDI (Junior Executive Development Initiative) participants: The time for advocacy is now!

There is no better place to represent the credit union movement than in Washington, D.C. at the annual CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), February 25-March 1, 2018.  Dignitaries – including former President George W. Bush – lawmakers, newsmakers, and industry leaders are scheduled to address CUNA GAC participants. Visits with Hawaii’s congressional delegation on Capitol Hill also highlight this important event.

Don’t let budgetary restraints keep you from attending CUNA GAC. Young credit union professionals have the opportunity to “Crash the GAC” through a scholarship from The Cooperative Trust/Filene Research Institute. Only one Crasher per state will be chosen. In addition to the scholarship, your League will award the Hawaii Crasher a $2,000 subsidy to defer travel costs, hotel, transportation, meals and expenses related to the conference.

Many Hawaii credit union professionals and volunteers have made CUNA GAC an annual part of their advocacy efforts. Be a part of this exciting opportunity! The deadline to submit your Crash the GAC application has been extended to Friday, Dec 8, 2017 (7:59 pm HST).
