It was reported to HCUL that a 29-year-old male named Caine Atuatasi has been targeting smaller credit unions on Oahu.

The suspect claims to be a “new hire” or a “contractor” with the credit union’s sponsor company and explains he has yet to receive an employee ID number. After opening an account at the credit union, he deposits multiple checks from either ASB or FHB for small amounts ($500 - $800) and comes back a few days later to withdraw the money.  These checks will later come back as “account closed”.  Atuatasi uses his real information – Social Security number, address, phone number, email address, and Hawaii State ID. According to his Facebook page, he works for Alaska Airlines.
