In today’s rapidly changing landscape, critical thinking and problem-solving are essential for navigating challenges and driving innovation. These skills enable employees to approach problems with creativity and flexibility, finding unique solutions and adapting to evolving situations to thrive in the face of constant change and uncertainty.

Morning and afternoon breaks
​will be scheduled by the instructor.
Successful completion of this workshop will increase your ability to:
  • Demonstrate the four characteristics of critical thinking to help you gather and assess the right information.
  • Follow the three-step process of critical thinking to ensure you thoroughly review issues and potential solutions.
  • Recognize and avoid the four critical thinking mistakes.
  • Apply the process of critical thinking to real-world situations.
This course explores the following subjects in depth:
  •  The four characteristics of critical thinking: curiosity, awareness, flexibility, and common sense.
  • The three-step process to critical thinking: examine, explore, and evaluate.
  •  The most common critical thinking mistakes: rationalization, emotional thinking, bias, and tunnel vision.
  • Analyzing real-world situations for how well critical thinking skills were exhibited and where they could have been improved.
  • Assessing your own ability to demonstrate the process and characteristics of critical thinking and avoid the mistakes.

Cancellation and refund policy
No refunds will be made or registration forms accepted after deadline.  Cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected].  Hawaii Credit Union League reserves the right to cancel this workshop in the event of insufficient participation or for extraordinary reasons outside of its control, with advance notice to all registrants. Hawaii Credit Union League also reserves the right to change the site, instructor, or schedule of this program due to unforeseen circumstances, with as much advance notice possible.
INSTRUCTOR

Christy Valledor is an experienced Talent Development (TD) professional growing talent in various industries including hospitality, retail and finance. She is currently the Assistant Vice President of TD at HawaiiUSA FCU. Christy’s experience goes beyond TD, leading areas like Customer Experience, Call Center, Service, and Financial Wellness. Christy served for many years on the FEAH board and the Association for Talent Development Hawaii Chapter. She is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Certified Prosci Change Practitioner, and Certified Customer Experience Champ. Her life purpose is to help others be the best version of themselves so they can live extraordinary lives.
