​The Hawaii Credit Union League (HCUL) is the voice of Hawaii’s credit unions. We advocate for the industry, support compliance and operational excellence, and connect our members to the tools and resources they need to serve their communities effectively.

​HCUL represents credit unions at the national, state, and county levels. We work to protect credit unions’ tax-exempt status, influence legislation and regulation, and keep policymakers, regulators, and the public informed about the positive impact credit unions have across Hawaii.

Navigating today’s regulatory environment is complex. HCUL helps credit unions stay compliant by partnering with America’s Credit Unions and other trusted experts, providing timely guidance and access to industry-leading resources.
Our compliance solutions include:

• InfoSight360, an all-in-one platform offering clear federal and state-specific compliance guidance, policy management, and business continuity support.
• ComplySight and NComply, centralized tools that help track, manage, and report on compliance activities while supporting audit readiness.
• Ask‑A‑Lawyer, which gives member credit unions weekly access to general legal and regulatory guidance from HCUL’s retained counsel.​

​Preparedness, Communication, and Continuity

​HCUL supports business continuity and crisis readiness through partnerships such as Everbridge, which provides mass notification and communication tools at preferred pricing. We also participate in HawaiiFIRST for Continuity, fostering coordination among financial institutions, government agencies, and private-sector partners statewide.

Insightful Tools for Smarter Decisions

​Understanding financial performance is critical. Through Peer Suite Express, a free, web-based tool from Callahan & Associates, credit union staff and volunteers can easily analyze financial data and build financial literacy.

Education is central to HCUL’s mission. We offer conferences, compliance schools, workshops, seminars, webinars, and our annual convention, while also promoting national and regional programs such as Western Credit Union Management School.

We recognize excellence through the Pakela Awards, which honor credit union professionals and volunteers for outstanding educational achievement, professional designations, and graduation from premier industry programs.

HCUL keeps members informed through our Weekly News Update, Compliance Source eNewsletter, weekly video wrap-ups, and active website and social media channels. Our HELP Email Forum connects credit union professionals across the state, encouraging collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

Through Credit Unions for Kids, HCUL and Hawaii credit unions support Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. Since 1998, Hawaii credit unions have raised $1.5 million—with every dollar directly benefiting patient care.

HCUL represents credit unions across Oahu, Hawaii Island, Maui, Molokai, Kauai, and Lanai. Our members are part of a larger global credit union system supported by organizations such as America’s Credit Unions, CUNA Strategic Services, TruStage, and the World Council of Credit Unions—all working together to strengthen the cooperative mission.
