Aggressively pursue collection action on delinquent accounts;
Identify, track and assign accounts to collection agency
Coordinate repossessions and disposition of motor vehicles (including Repossession Log and Worksheet; obtaining rebates on service contracts and forced place insurance coverage)
Follows-up on bankruptcies; meeting of creditors, proof of claims and reaffirmation agreements.
Responsible to provide positive member experiences at every touch point (in person, over the phone, etc.). Provide members with general information concerning the credit union, its products, services and policies. Refer members to the appropriate department for proper handling of questions/concerns, as necessary.
Have the knowledge of the credit union’s collection system to a point where minimum assistance is required from the other collection staff members or other departments.
Able to offer financial counseling to the members when needed to assist them in improving their financial condition as well as referring the members to Consumer Credit Counseling Service, as warranted.
Prepare and process necessary paperwork related to resolving disputes on loan payments, next due dates and past due amounts via payment spreadsheet, as warranted; resolve disputed credit bureau discrepancies as reported by members to the credit reporting agencies; prepare the necessary documentation to charge off delinquent loans; Pursue "NSF" (Non-Sufficient Funds) items on loan payments as well as printing a before and after of the "Loan Maintenance" screen to ensure the next due date and interest calculation dates are correct; prepare monthly Recovery report.
Maintains accurate documentation of correspondence, letters and other related documents, properly and orderly in the member's loan file at a maximum of two hours per week or as needed.
Assist with securing the collection department for closing (4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday & 5:00 p.m. on Friday). Loan folders, correspondence, checks, etc. to be filed in the storage room.
Other Duties:
Represent HCFCU in community events, as appropriate.
Actively participate in credit union functions.
Assist management in compiling and preparing reports monthly or as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Minimum three years loan collection experience, along with working knowledge of the current laws pertaining to collections, repossessions, bankruptcy and garnishments.
Basic accounting knowledge to compute average monthly incomes and/or deciphering state & federal tax returns for workouts and delinquent refinances.
Must have knowledge of Excel and Word.
Type 30 words per minute and operate a 10 Key with minimal or no errors.
Must be organized and able to meet deadlines with the ability to work independently on a daily basis with minimum supervision. Able to make sound decisions.
High school degree or equivalent.
Must be able to communicate (both in oral and written form) effectively and professionally.
Collection Clerk
Primary Responsibilities: The Collection Control Clerk is responsible for the daily clerical work within the department along with handling collection accounts between the delinquency range of 1 – 29 days. The Control Clerk will collaborate with members and provide them alternative solutions to cure their delinquency. The primary objective is to maintain the loan portfolio at a status to minimize loan losses.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for the daily clerical workload produced by the Collection Manager and Collection Control Officer(s), which includes scanning letters and other correspondence into the member’s collection file.
Obtaining loan folders for the control officers and manager.
Assist in processing the end of the month charge offs. Identify, track, and assign accounts to collection agencies.

TELLER II
Primary Responsibilities: The Teller II is responsible to accurately process member’s transactions while providing the member with a positive, memorable experience. The Teller II position is also responsible to open new accounts and effectively profile new and existing members and make appropriate suggestions for products and services (both loans and deposits) to help them meet/exceed their financial objectives.
Essential Duties:
Responsible to ensure positive member experiences at every touch point (in person, over the phone, etc.) Ensure that new and existing members are provided information concerning the Credit Union, its products, services and policies. Actively engage members and ensures they are effectively profiled, educated and when appropriate, cross-sold additional products/services (both loans and deposits) to help them meet/exceed their financial objectives. Able to also actively engage members while opening new accounts and adding additional services to their relationship with the Credit Union.
Maintains a clear understanding of applicable regulations and disclosures, and the Credit Union’s policies and procedures. Responsible to comply with these rules and regulations as it pertains to the handling of cash and negotiable items and the servicing of member’s accounts.
Processes all transactions in an accurate and efficient manner, keeping cash differences and non-policy losses at a minimum.
Address member’s questions/concerns, including any required research. Provide members with effective solutions and alternatives in a timely manner, or, as applicable, refer them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
Builds, retains and acquires member relationships to achieve sales and service goals for the branch. Participates in cross training opportunities to gain additional knowledge. Actively participates in all branch/Credit Union sales promotions and campaigns, including but not limited to outbound member calls and referrals.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
One year cash handling & customer service experience preferred.
Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate to both internal customers and external members.
